Does anyone have any thoughts or feelings on the 99 dragon limit? Comfortable with it? Not comfortable with it?
Personally I'm a little dismayed by it. I understand the server has limits, but I would be much relieved if one of the FR team would consider raising it at some point in the future as more breeds and content are added. The reason is I was able to (while limited to 6 breeds instead of the starting 10 for Opening) accumulate 40 dragons in only three months. I liked every one that I had, it wasn't just random buying, and I was still wanting more. This is why I'm trying to restrict my clan to specific colors in order to slow it down a bit. I had also raised most of those to the max lvl 20 in the Colesium and was running out of things to do.
Any thoughts? Anyone else enjoy a game so much you end up essentially "beating" it in a short time period and are left wondering what to do next?

Oh wow, I wasn't too worried by it, but from your statement of getting 40 in three months, I can see why it may be an issue. I figured, you know, with frequent exalting and selling, I wouldn't really hit the cap. But there is the deal of getting attached to certain dragons, even if you think you'll be picky with them. But I still think 99 is a fair number, at least for launch.
Maybe a bit on the low side compared to the lair limits of other games, but hopefully they'll make enough money to increase the cap (because database space will always be an issue) as the game grows and adds new species. Additionally, maybe they could make lair expansions a gem item. I'd be willing to pay gems for that.

But there is the deal of getting attached to certain dragons, even if you think you'll be picky with them. Yes, that's basically the problem. You start out thinking you're being picky and then you end up with a ton of "almost perfect" or "I'm sentimental about this one because" or " But it was such a good deal!" And then basically the only solution is to have a very narrow definition of what colors and genes and breeds you want, so that you can resist tempting ones. I definitely agree that 99 is a good place to start at, but that's a great idea. I'd completely go for expansions that could be paid in gems, that way you're supporting the site and covering the cost of having more data to deal with.

Gem expansions is a great idea! If you want more server space, you pay for it. It all works out. That said, I do like that the limit exists. I know that if left to my own devices, I would never exalt anything. The limit forces me to look critically at who needs to stay and who needs to go.

I'd guess eventually they'll up the limit- with 10 or more breeds, they've got to assume some people will want a breeding population of each. With two or three breeding pairs of each breed and room for babies... but yes, I expect space past 99 to be gem-requiring, not treasure. I think that would be fair, as that many dragons would take a bit of data space!
lol I probably won't exalt anything until I run out of both treasure and space! on Horse Isle I'm constantly going over my space limit because I hate selling horses.

I'd hate to have to pay money (real money) for more dragon space. I get that it costs money and all, but I think they'd lose players if it ended up being like "You pay for the sandwich, but you have to pay extra for the lettuce and tomato" sort of deal.

You're technically going to have to pay for more space for dragons already. You pay in-game treasure for every 5 spaces after the initial 5 or 10 slots. And at certain points ( 55, 75, and the last 99) you will pay a small quantity of gems, so that part is already in place.
