Gaia tossing my opinion in too - I also REALLY like Gaea for someone who is going to make a Nature clan  it's appropriate, interesting, and easy to remember! (Don't underestimate the power of "Oh yeah, I remember seeing that player's name around. Ok, you get the trade/or whatever it is!" ) Inventrix I know what you mean about hesitating to join discussions in other communities. I don't think I've seen anywhere else that a thread like the Gem-Treasure one wouldn't eventually degenerate into an argument. Hehe, I'd love to blame it on our love for dragons but I've been on the Dragon Cave Forum and I wouldn't critique a single pixel or word there. As for Familiars, if you want to just see a collection of pictures of them, you can find most of those here flightrisingflock.boards.net/thread/82/familiars-color-images-image-unfinished and all of them in black & white here: flightrising.com/main.php?p=bestiary&id=16 . And like Gaea said, if you like collecting then it'll be fun. But from a practical standpoint, attaching them to your dragons and "Bonding" with them on a daily basis will earn you treasure and treasure chests. You will naturally get many of the Familiars available as part of random coliseum drops, so there's not much reason to not use whatever you get by chance even if you aren't interested in collection.

GaiaOh! I have another friend who is Dutch, too! That's really cool. Your English grammar is actually quite good, so I wouldn't stress about it too much. That's a really good naming theme idea for a Nature clan! I like it. Especially if you do go with Gaea as your user/clan name. I don't have anything nearly so defined in mind for mine... I don't have much of anything in mind for mine. >.> I was thinking about my starting dragon a bit more this morning and I'm tentatively thinking about naming him Avis... Bah! Names are hard. (Not knowing what my randomized mate is going to be until I register and make my first dragon is killing me. XD I must be patient! Although I am hoping it is a female Guardian. If not, I think I'm going to try hatchling-trading for a female Guardian early on.) Hm, actually, perhaps I might use Avis or something based on it as my clan name... Anyway, I'll be a Wind flight so maybe I'll have a hatchling you'd like as your Bamboo at some point. I think I may need to go pore over the bestiary for a while to go over all the familiars; it sounds like there are a lot of really fun ones. (Bamboo-butt cat! XD) When I get back home, though. (I'm on a trip to visit family right now so I have to use my super-slow netbook, which grinds to a halt when I have even ten tabs open.)

jcstitchesI do like collecting things, but I tend to be pretty bad at it. <.< I'll usually start out going "I'M GONNA GET THEM ALL!!" and then focus on a handful of favorites. (I have an amusing history with Pokemon.) I'm suspecting a similar thing will happen here, with finding a few that I Really Want and lavishing them with attention and affection and every now and then remembering that there are more. *laughs* Your point about easily memorable names is a good one. I'm going to keep that in mind as well.

Inventrix One thing to keep in mind if you're just going to collect certain ones is you can collect as many of a favorite type of Familiar as you want, but you can only attach one to a dragon (not per dragon, one dragon out of your entire lair). Only one is usable and once you max out the Bonding capacity neither that nor any other Familiar of that type will yield rewards anymore.

Inventrix Yes, that's a very good point JC has! And thanks for the positivity (or positiveness?) about my name! Since you guys like it so much, I guess I'll keep it! ^_^ just like my mom always says after I screw up a multiple choice exam; 'always stick to your first choice!' Tho I find this a bit more nerve wrecking than an exam!  Hahaha And I guess you still have the time to think about a good clan name and a possible theme. I like Avis tho, is it based on some comic or series?

jcstitches: That's good to know! I don't tend to be the sort to want duplicates, so that shouldn't bother me too much. I'll have to make sure my favorites are attached to my favorite dragons~ Does it take a while to fully bond with an individual familiar? Gaia: It is more nerve-wracking, isn't it? XD It counts for a lot longer than a single question on one quiz... Avis is actually the Latin for "bird"; I thought of it when trying to think of a neat Wind-related sort of name. I like it best of the things I've thought of so far because it still sounds like a name. ***edit* Ooooh! Maybe if I go with Avis, I can "steal" your type of naming theme and name all of my dragons bird-related things! I like that!

Inventrix Sorry, that's not a question I can answer completely. Yes, is what I'm going to say because when beta ended I'd been bonding for a month or perhaps a bit more. I'm assuming I was probably halfway through the levels of bonding (potentially 1/3), so it's going to be (at minimum) three months until you hit the limit.

Inventrix Yes yes it is!!! Ive been having horrible dreams about it too, like spelling my name wrong, accidentally picking the wrong element, or having no internet connection for days! And you should do that, thats a great idea! ^_^ You could also give em bird names, like falcon, eagle, sparrow, vulture  Yesterday I scanned the internet for wind-related names, and I found a wikipedia page with all kinds of 'local currents' that had their own special names, but it was quite a short list (seeing how you can have 99 dragons in your lair) and not all of them were pretty, so birds is a way better theme! Especially if your clan name is gonna be avis!

Yesterday I scanned the internet for wind-related names, and I found a wikipedia page with all kinds of 'local currents' that had their own special names, but it was quite a short list (seeing how you can have 99 dragons in your lair) and not all of them were pretty, so birds is a way better theme! Especially if your clan name is gonna be avis!
