My plans for Clan Avis! (Although they're really more like guidelines.)
Launch Day
- Stay up until 1am MT onJune 8th June 5th (!!!) and register for my account as soon as is drakonically possible.
- Join the Wind flight! Yay, Wind!
- Create my custom starter, who shall be named Tanysi (after Tanysiptera, the Paradise Kingfisher family).
Tanysi will look mostly like this! Except I missed a spot on his neck. *facepalm*
- Excitedly discover what my random mate looks like and either crow in glee or wail in despair.
- Buy gems!
- SHIMMERRRRR
- Breed them!
- Spend all of my gathering turns on food and scavenging.
- Check out the Fairgrounds and the Coliseum.
- Look at what people are posting on the forums and introduce myself there.
- LOOK AT EVERYTHING AND MAKE EXCITED SCREECHING NOISES.
- Apologize to my spouse for being noisy and awake so late. Well, early.
and:
- Notify my to-trade people of how many hatchlings my first clutch will have.
- Find people's accounts on FR to bookmark/friend/whatever them.
Character Goals
Originally my plan was to wing everything once the game launched, but once I came up with a name for my custom startereverything spiraled out of control and I've already written a page-long unfinished IC prologue for the founding of the clan (which is currently pending finding out what my random mate is). In the process, I have discovered that my three... "protagonists", let's call it for the moment, are thusly:
- Tanysi, who you saw above.
- An as-yet unnamed female Guardian, who will hopefully be Lavender/Rust and Tan's mate (and if she is, I will likely name her after a fairy wren).
- And an as-yet unnamed Mirror dragon of undetermined gender. I did several mock-ups of color combinations for the Mirror and I really liked Caribbean/Jungle. I really want to see a Jade dragon, though...
This is mostly what they would look like!
***EDIT*** I probably won't be trying to get these after all
I gave them wind-ish colored placeholder eye colors, but chances are neither of them will wind up being Wind. I'm going to be actively trying to trade for them - probably for a while. (At least, unless my random mate is a Mirror with cool colors.) I'll be putting out a "looking for" notice when the game launches in the hopes of finding someone to trade them to me.
Breeding Plans
Part of my desire for the Lavender/Rust Guardian is for the color ranges. Breeding her and Tan will give me a chance at the bottom half of the color wheel for body colors, and (pretty much) the upper half of the color wheel for wing colors. I want to have a LOT of color variety.
Breeding is my Big Focus for this game, so I'm going to be kicking things off right away. My plan looks somewhat like this.
- Breed my two starters immediately.
- Do a lot of scavenging (especially early on), in the hopes of getting abandoned eggs to widen my breeding pool.
- Start buying hatchlings once the early access players start having some for sale, to widen my early breeding pool.
- Open a hatchling store-front on the forum! I've already started organizing the layout for this, haha... I'm going to try to get it set up about a day before my first clutch hatches.
- Trade and/or sell my entire first clutch of hatchlings, unless I get a particularly excellently-placed color combination to breed for range one of the hatchlings I'd purchased by then.
- Continue until I have 3-4 regularly breedable pairs. Meanwhile, save up to buy more nests. (At least, I recall additional nests being purchased via treasure.)
At that point, I will have played enough to reassess the status of my clan and breeding pairs and form a second-stage plan! (This plan will include things like buying gene and breed scrolls and identifying specific goal dragons.)
Other Goals and Plans
Most everything else, I'm going to form ideas of what I want once I've played with the site a bit more. I'm looking forward to finding all the different food items and collecting familiars, but I don't have many plans for them!
I also am not particularly interested in the apparel and accessories, but that may change.
I'd like to make skins and accents, but I'm not quite motivated enough or skilled enough to make it worth spending my time on (in terms of how much fun I would have with it).
And since I noticed several people keeping trade queues in their Plans thread, you can check out my hatchling trades thread right here~
In the long run, I'm looking at collecting some dragons (which do not really fit the overall theme I have going, but oh well~) who "match" a set of RP characters I and a group of my friends all have together. That's very low priority, though.
