Who's thinking of making or joining one? It might be fun to have an alliance with members from here.

Honestly, I never heard much about these Alliances before. I might join or make one, if there's any benefits for members. If I make one, I'll just name it after my GW2 guild; The Nightmare Carnival. Despite having nightmare in the title, my guild is by no means meant to be evil. More of just dark, possibly with some bad motivations, but always more chaotic neutral than evil.

Im not sure whether I'll join an alliance. Ive been playing this other dragon game, where I was in an alliance too, and I felt I couldnt befriend the people I wanted to, cause they were in an 'enemy alliance' and it took away part of the pleasure of playing the game, that was substituted for a feeling of moral obligations to my fellow members! To avoid that from happening again, I prefer to stay on neutral grounds. I am however interested in a just helpful community. For example you guys are probably gonna choose the lightening clan, and Im gonna be Nature. So we might both benefit from trading a dragon of our elemental type. I am definitely open to those kinds of relationships.. That are helpful but don't create enemies of people who aren't in on it or are in a different group or something..

Well, if the Alliances allow any element to join them (I have no idea, though XD) then I think rivalries may not be as big of an issue as if they ARE element-exclusive. So I'd prefer open alliances. Then you may only get a play rivalry or two, nothing serious.
And there will still probably be folks who only allow their own element to join, but I wouldn't make my alliance like that.
Additionally, most communities always end up with one or two pro-noob/helpful guild, which is more casual and just out there to have fun and be nice.
To sum up, Admins, please allow guilds the option to be element non-exclusive.

True,, plus this game isnt as war- and PvPfighting based as the game I played, and that game also wasnt race exclusive (there were four races that according to the lore were at war with each other, but as an overlord of an alliance you were free to accept and dismiss anyone to your (dis)liking) but people just start hating on each other in chat, start blackmailing other alliances and claim they are the best, keep provoking people for battles and stuff.. And pretty much just ruining the game for peaceful players that just wanna have some fun.. I hope (and think) FR will attract other kinds of people than the wargame I played (I guess its all in the name xD) but the whole goal of the game is different too, with PvP battles just being a small part of the game, while for Dragons of Atlantis (the other game I played) PvP battles were the only exciting stuff for most people.. Plus I also don't know if there is a alliance formation option in FR. In the other game it was the first thing you were confronted with when you start out, but Im not sure if there is such an alliance-button on FR.. I don't believe so tho.. You can add people as your friends tho, so I guess you can informally form an alliance or a group that way..

Ahhh. I've played games like DoA before. PvP oriented will always be more competitive, but it's because that's what works best for the game.
In FR, I think it'll be more about cooperation to begin with. For collect dragons of other elements, particularly. And yeah, like I said in my first post, I never heard anything about alliances or guilds. But I certainly don't see why it couldn't be an addition at some point in th game.
Guilds are just... fun, sometimes. xD Miniature communities working towards a common goal, be it making Treasure off the market, rising in the ranks of the Coliseum, or just messing around and making friends.

Middle Earth Alliance! *just watched The Hobbit* Truthfully though I'll probably not join an Alliance if such a trend starts, I tend to start to be a bit of hermit/lurker, unless I'm giving stuff away, which will hopefully happen a lot.

I don't know if I'll join one, but I really like the idea of trade alliances so we can get more elemental types. As much as I like Lightning, I've played enough Pokemon to know you shouldn't get stuck with a party of the same type.

Lol I'd join the middle earth alliance just because I love the books of Tolkien! Sad that the few dragons in those stories are always bad Yet I still love em! I can't wait until we get to see Smaug for real in part two! Only eight more months to go, which will go by way faster once FR has aired! <3 @ Nohricanis; yeah that's what I think would be very useful too. Of course you can find elemental eggs by scavenging in the corresponding area, but chances are you'll end up with for example only faes.. If you can trade with people you have a lot more influence on what breed of dragon you'll get as well.. Maybe we can have some arragenemt too! Have you figured out your starter breed yet?
