From what I've seen, I'm pretty sure you have to wait till the eggs hatch into hatchlings, but I'll happily dig around and see what info I can scrounge up, just to be certain, unless one of the Beta-Players can give us a better answer. ^^

I'm not a beta tester but I have been stalking the tumbler and forums for a while. Anyway, eggs in your nests can't be traded or auctioned. However, eggs that you've found while scavenging or in the Colosseum count as items and can be traded etc.
