A soft melody of life whispered through the emerald abyss, rustling at the leaves like a gentle summer's breeze. The bird's sweet songs, the chatter of wild life, the hum of the fae's, and the pitter patter of new life and young paws scampering through the bows and branches and leaves echoed through the forest like a pulse. A heart beat - as though it were one great, living, breathing thing.
Th-thump. The birds chirp. Th-thump. The trees sigh with the wind. Th-thump. The Fae's hum their little song. Th-thu- WOOSH! Without a word of warning the steady beat and rhythm was thrown off beat with a jolt, followed by near manicle laughter as a young dragoness twisted and spiraled and arched and flipped her way about the trees in a wild, dare devil sort of dance, her laughter trickling out behind her. Moths were blown off course and tossed about in the wild wind currents her dance brought while Stranglers and Dryads did their best to scamper back and hide and keep well out of her way, less the crazy lass miss a turn and go crashing through the branches towards them.
Yet crash she never did, every turn, every spiral and every twist was made with precise decision and accuracy, allowing her to glide over the scampering critters almost effortlessly, throwing a wink their way as she wooshed on by. As she danced through the forest she made her way towards the largest tree in existence, the Behemoth. Rushing towards it at rapid speeds she beat her wings, opalescent markings glittering and shimmering in the light against her white webbing and feathers. Faster. Spiralling towards it, head first, she made no motion to sweep to either side, her eyes set in a stubborn glare. Faster.. She was only Dryad's length away from it now. Faster...! Her muzzle inches from certain pain she craned her neck up and, with an almighty beat of her wings, shot up the side of the great tree, spiralling around it's rich, brown surface as though she sought to form a tornado about it. Suddenly she shot through the great green canopy, through the foliage and high above the almighty tree. Panting hard a wicked little grin settled over her slender face as she allowed herself to glide down and perch upon one of the highest branches, delicately balancing her weight so that she might watch as the great light set across the lands and witness as the clouds danced with their own colour and life, seconds before they blinked into darkness. This was her favourite part of the day.
"Miss me, Behemoth~?" she purred out to the tree, tenderly sweeping her tail along one of it's many branches as she sighed at the sight of the sun setting out across the land. "I know you have. I'd miss me, too, if I went missing." She laughed now, allowing her body to sink lower till she was laying on the branch, watching as the sun faded into the distance and the stars ignited the blackness that threatened to engulf the world, the faint yet beautiful glows of the shadow lands just beyond her home. "Behe... wouldn't it be cool to go out there some time? To see what lies in the shadow lands? To see what lies beyond? Or where the light hides when the shadows come out? Wouldn't it just be magical?" A soft breeze whispered through the tree, shuffling the leaves about her and ruffling her feathers. "I know! I know! Of course it would be dangerous. But... that's half the fun, right? Besides... maybe I could find a clan, somewhere out there... Or make my own. I mean, you're great and all, Behe... but still, it gets kinda... lonely at night. Plus could you imagine, Behe? Out there, somewhere! Where fire courses through the rocks like roots course through the earth." She arched down and crept along the branch, running her talons over it to mimic the supposed 'fire roots'. "Or! Or!" She suddenly shot into the air and spiralled around. "A place where the earth reaches so high it can touch the sky!" Suddenly dipping into a nose dive she shot down before leaping up like a dolphin splashing through waves. "Or a place where there's more water than the Gladeveins!" Spiralling back up she banked on a thermal and glided around, staring at the faint glow of such beautiful, luminescent colours. "Or a place where the night doesn't mean shadows and death, where it means beauty and wonder." Gliding back down she nestled on a branch once more. "Or maybe, just maybe.. a place for me." Curling up she draped her tail up and about herself, tucking her limbs in under her as her wings folded in like a soft, feather blanket. "But... it's all just a fanciful dream, isn't it, Behe? A tiny little dragoness like me wouldn't last a moment beyond your life giving touch, and all of those adventures and places are a world away... heh. It'd still be nice, though... To see something from beyond the emerald abyss." Tucking her face in under her wing she settled for the night, purring softly as she began to doze. "Sleep well, Behe... May the Gladeskeeper keep us safe another night."
<< OOC: Sorry for the crazy long post...introducing Opalescence (as a Skydancer, since they are crazy gorgeous and fit her well) and... got a little carried away. Hope you don't mind. And I've been rereading over your post for a while now and just... Well I had to make time to make a post. I really, truly did. Too awesome not to. >>

As the night grew darker and the moon peeked and disappeared amongst the clouds, a strong breeze tugged at the little dragoness's feathers, strong enough to tug her towards the edge of the branch she'd chosen to be her bed for the night. Tug. Tug. Tug. Fwump! With a squeal she was hauled off of her perch and sent spiralling towards the ground. Opening her wings she banked as quickly as possible, her feet scrambling and pawing at the air as she sought to stop herself. Catching hold of a thermal she was whisked back upwards, before another breeze caught her sail-like wings and pushed her away from her home tree and towards the borders of the Gladeskeeper's land. "OK, OK, alright, OK!" she called out, beating her wings and heading off of her own free will as the sleep fled from her eyes and her mind cleared of dream's sweet bliss. "I get the hint, Behe... I just hope you know what you're doing." Glancing around she looked at the trees as she glided through, red eyes seeming to follow her every movement as she glided through the midnight forest. Swallowing a lump in her throat she breathed a sigh of relief as she entered the outskirts of the great forests, sweeping over the great 'veins' of the emerald abyss before banking and gliding to a gentle landing just meters from the borders. Sucking in a breath she looked about the area, wondering what in all eleven Gods' names had brought her here, before she saw it. A trio of young Fae dragons, a little older than hatchlings, scampering back from the 'shadow lands', giggling as they went. Her green eyes grew wide and she lept forwards, towards the fledglings, her gossamer white feathers and scales glittering like moonlight in the darkness, her opalescent markings alight with a faint glow that pulsed with the thrum of not only her own heart-beat, but the gentle pulse of the sleeping forest. "H-hey!! What in Behemoth's name do you think you're doing!" she called out to the little ones, who promptly stared at her with wide, scared eyes, muttered something to themselves about the Ghost of the Forest coming to eat them for being bad hatchlings, before they took to the wind and disappeared admits the foliage. Sighing softly, she shook her head and watched them flee, a slight pang falling into her chest about that dreadful little nickname. 'Ghost'. She'd gotten it all her life for her flawless white webbing, feathers, scales and mane, her glowing opalescent markings and delicate figure not helping towards the nickname, nor the way she glided through the air. Glancing back to the border she pranced from paw to paw wearily. They'd obviously done something, and most probably not something they should have done at that. She couldn't just leave whatever they'd done there, right? What if it hurt someone, or worse, what if it messed with their neighbours environment! Taking a deep breath she looked back to the great Behemoth tree before looking back into the shadow lands and glaring. With that, she moved forwards, slow and steady, until she came to the very, very edge of her Guardian's reach. "Oh Behe... This had better be worth it..." With a final breeze from the great forest she was pushed over the edge and tumbled into the shadow lands. Steading her feet she proceeded to plod along, glancing about and looking quite nervous and twitchy, ready to take to the air in a moments notice and disappear like a flash of lightning. "Oh come on you darn little stinkbugs... what in the Goddess's name did you do..." Gliding along the soft dark earth she stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all the black and neon colours, truly seeming to look like the ghost of a dragon come back to haunt the living with the gnarled and strange setting she found herself in. Deeper and deeper she wandered, curiosity taking hold as she slipped through the dark forest as the moon slipped among the clouds, every little twitch and twitter of life catching her eye and making her sigh. It was all so beautiful, delightful and different. Oh how wondrous to the young dragoness it was to see how different areas had evolved and held different life forms, she nearly forgot the whole reason she had come to this strange place and wandered so far from her home lands. That was until her tail swished past a thorned nettle bush. Muffling a yelp she leaped back, as light on her feet as ever and landing without a sound as she stared, wide eyed, at a bush that she recognised from her home lands. "What in the Gladeskeeper's name..." cautiously pacing towards it she lowered her head and sniffed it. It even smelt of her forest! Slightly tainted by the strange, yet wonderful scents around her, but it smelt of her forest all the same. "Who in their right mind's has been crossing the boundaries for... for... this nonsense? The boundaries are there for a reason." Huffing to herself she shook her head with a glare before freezing and tensing. If her home land was invading another's... surely it had gone and upset somebody. Somebody probably very big. And dark. And dangerous... "Oh dear... oh dear... this... this is not good. Not good at all. Oh no. Oh Behe. I see. I see now. Oh my..." Her voice came out soft and melodic, a beautiful little tinkle that whispered through the air as she stood there staring in horror and fear, wondering how in her Gods' names she'd fix this mess. (( Seems that little 'friend' of Malik's has been a nasty influence on the young of the forest, and now Opal's gone and gotten herself tangled in the mess. What a nasty ol' dragon that 'friend' must be!!))

Giving a final huff of effort, the damnable bush came loose from the earth and the dear little dragoness nearly toppled over from the sudden jerk. Twisting her tail around she caught herself and dropped the bush to the side, using her tail to delicately brush off any of the thorns, twigs or leaves that had caught on her scales or in her mane. Looking at her building pile she sighed and shook her head. It seemed to be a losing battle. The forests roots grew strong, and once in the ground they were hard to remove, and beyond that, their seeds spred like wildfire thanks to the natural fauna around the area. The plants were simply too hardy, too well adapted to well, adapting, and even then whoever had planted them had known to pick shrubs from the underbrush, the ones who rarely saw the light of day regardless of the weather. Without a word she simply continued to pile up the mess her own had left, before shuffling on to the next bush that caught her gleaming eye.
Time dragged by and as it did she couldn't help but to smile softly at all the strange wildlife that came out to look at her. She did have to admit that she must look quite a site. Such a starke white dragon gliding through the light of the moon in such a shadowy area, clearing out the plants that had somehow found their way into the wrong territory. A strange sight indeed to creatures who were used to such dark colours or bright colours. Shaking her head in mirth she went to shuffle on before faltering as the sound of a voice and crackling fire wafted through the otherwise still night air. Peeking her curiosity she stopped what she was doing and turned, gliding over the earth and through the fog towards the sounds. Large eyes stared out curiously as she saw a strange, talking shadow swirling around, seconds before it halted and suddenly seemed to vanish, everything growing silent. Cocking her head to the side she continued to peer on in silence, her scales glowing faintly in the moonlight as she attempted to peer through the shadows to see who was headed her way, completely unaware of the danger that was headed her way. Catching sight of the orange flicker of flames she tilted her head to the other side and glided forwards across the land slightly, her wings and tail rippling out behind her like water, glimmering in the bright moonlight.
Before she knew what had happened a sickly yet powerful looking mirror was launching himself at her fragile looking form, charging at her with a growl and a snarl across his face. For a moment her heart skipped a beat and she froze, her eyes growing even wider than before, and a second after she was up in the air, gliding past through the trees and, for just a fleeting moment, disappearing amongst the clouds. Dipping back down further away from the group, yet still able to see the Fae and the Mirror, she narrowed her eyes slightly. Sudden movements, twists, turns and speed came natural to her, only enhanced and heightened by her life in the forest. There, she had no choice but to learn to be fast and to dodge and move abruptly and without warning, if she didn't she'd face no lunch or broken bones, not the best idea on how to spend her time, personally. In all of her sudden movements, dodging the attack and her curiosity forcing her to stay and remain in their vicinity, she'd breathed not a word nor stirred nothing but the wind. With a beat of her wings she slipped off through the forest once more, seeming to vanish like a ghost in the night before whirling in a fair distance away, but at the other side of Deruge. Finally, she spoke. "Who are you... what are you?" she breathed softly, her voice drifting through the wind in a soft, exotic husky tone, an ancient voice whispered seemingly by the wind itself. Her green eyes narrowed at Deruge, though not in anger, more akin to naive curiosity upon something she didn't understand nor comprehend. The continued to examine his form, raking themselves over every taught muscle and infested scale or piece of flesh, though now weary of him, she continued to shift and glide through the darkness, her paws never once seeming to touch the ground as she moved. And then, without a word, she vanished from sight entirely, her speed and grace serving her well this night.
As quickly as she vanished she reappeared as a white, ghostly blur over the canopy, a still bleeding and twitching doe like thing dropping down onto the ground, her white scales smeared with crimson. She may be of the forest, but even there it was understood, life meant death, and death meant life. Perching high up upon a branch she continued to peer down at the strange group in silence once more, her large eyes blinking slowly as she watched from afar. "I wouldn't bother trying to eat me. You won't find yourself much of a meal on my bones, I'm afraid, so have at that instead. Now, who are you, what are you, and why are you so close to the boundary to the Labyrinth? All of you, I mean. Your shadowy friend and flame loving Fae included. And.." her melodic voice fell to the wind as she seemed to bite her lip as she peered down at the strange plague infested dragon, before finally seeming to gain the courage to creep further down the tree to stare at him and his infested back, seeming to find herself drawn towards the strange life form rather than to shy from it, "What... what is on your back..?" She'd never been outside of her forest, she'd never seen anything that lay beyond, and tonight she'd stumbled across something so akin to her kind, yet so drastically different, how could a young dragoness not find herself enraptured by it? There she perched, up in mangled trees in a haunted looking forest, as white as a ghost and blood covered, seeming to stare death in the face and not flinch nor shy from it, if anything she was drawn to it.
(( *giggles* These guys are awesome. Well, Crazy and Malik are. Actually, I adore Malik. There's just something about him..! *flops on him and rolls around* And yes. Opalescence is crazy and seems to have danger deficit disorder. Seriously. I just. I don't even. OTL At least she's fast and used to having to duck and dodge and weave, not to mention being a skydancer she's already born with a natural talent for it. She also doesn't seem to comprehend that a larger built male from a different flight miiiiiiight not be the best to stick around near, even if she is up in a tree and 'away' from him. Especially when you factor in he just growled and charged at you. Silly. Silly. Girl. OTL ))

He has no flight..? The thought rang through Opalescence's mind like a bell, crystal clear and bright as day, her eyes never leaving the strange mirror as he tore into the provided meal. The thought was strange to her. Every dragon within the forest had a flight, or at the very least a family, with most of the Faes having something she considered more to be hives. Well, every dragon within the forest but her had a flight, a family. Still, the thought was odd none the less, but he came from outside the forest, so who was she to judge? Maybe that was how it was done beyond the emerald abyss. It was Malik's voice, however, that drew her attention from her own thoughts and to his shadow figure. He certainly had a way with words, and a voice that wasn't harsh on the ears. Before she knew it, though, he was in her tree, his face dauntingly close to her own, and my, what a strange coloured face it was. For that fleeting moment that his scales and eyes were visible, she found herself a little lost, his voice but a distant melody as the strange colour of his eyes, and stranger still, his scales ensnared her. The seemed to glimmer like the galaxy that hung just above their heads at night, so dark, like night, yet not black, and so beautifully shiny. As quick as he appeared, he vanished, sinking away into the shadows once more, and upon that she seemed to suddenly realised he'd given her a compliment about her scales. A compliment. About her hideously white, ghost like scales. It was at that moment she found herself glad that they wouldn't be able to see the flush beneath previously mentioned scales. Such strange dragons indeed...
Just as she finally caught herself up with the shadow dragon's introductions and remarks, she found herself being questioned and accused. "Wh-what!" she sputtered out, her voice still somehow soft and ethereal as it seemed to purr it's way off of her tongue, "H-hold on! No! Look!" Gliding down she landed near Malik, her brows furrowed and her eyes pleading before she glided off and back towards a pile of the bushes she'd uprooted, motioning to them with a wing. "I'm not the one planting them. Truly, I'm not. My name is Opalescence, though I'm commonly known as Ghost, and I'm here because I saw some little fledglings scamper out of the border and back home. I went in to see what they were up to, and found they'd gone and planted some saplings. And then I started finding adult bushes and all sorts, and well.. it's not the Forest's land. The boundaries exist for a reason, to keep balance, to keep the world existing in as close to harmony as we can manage, so I couldn't just very well leave them there... I've spent the last couple of hours digging up and killing as many as I can. I'm not bad, I swear, nor am I trying to steal your land. Actually... in all honesty... this is my first time outside of the forest..." Her voice grew faint and soft at the end as she turned her face away from the group of dragons, one leg rubbing at the other in what one could almost consider an act of embarrassment, or shyness. And then she picked up the sent of soot and ash and fire. Peering away from the strange mirror who still seemed to be considering killing her, and the shadows where that strange, midnight dragon lurked, she caught site of a bush exploding into flames and the crazed Fae launching himself out of them. For a moment she cocked a brow and flicked her ear to the side, seeming to be more annoyed than intimidated or scared by the flames. Gliding over to the little flame lover she rose up to her hind legs and, before he could stand a chance to run, gave one powerful thrust of her wings, a large gust of wind flowing out and putting out the flames on him, though she left the bush to burn. "I swear to the heavens if you start teaching the Fae children back home to set themselves on fire..." It was more of a mutter to herself than anything, but with a sigh she turned her back to him before gliding back up and into a tree, perching herself up high and closer to the sky, where she felt safe.
Peering back down at Deruge and Malik she fell silent once more, though soon enough her curiosity won out and she found herself slipping down the tree and back to the ground. Once she touched the ground, however, she remained light on her feet, once more gliding off and disappearing into the forrest before swinging in and close to Malik, almost upon him, though she kept her distance well enough. A strange male from another flight could still prove dangerous, even if he had gotten uncomfortably close before without doing her harm. They were both so... different. So strange. Not to mention she was in his land, land that those of her land had intruded upon, and she herself was even here without permission, assuming you needed permission to enter another area, of course. But, she knew nothing of that sort of stuff, so she resigned herself to playing it safe regardless of what it actually was. Dipping her head low as a sign of submission she took a step closer to where she sensed, more than anything, Malik to be. "I am sorry for any damage those of the forest have done. I've done my best for the night to remove what I can which..." she paused and glanced to the various, near dragon sized piles of plants littered over her apparent zig-zaggy path, before looking back to him and making an awkward yet beautiful little trill noise, almost as though she laughed, "Heh, well. A fair decent amount, thanks to my speed. I meant no disrespect, to you, your lands, nor to your...erm." Pausing again she glanced between Deruge and Crazy before moving back a step and standing light on her feet once more, again shuffling around and seeming awkward, shy and yet curious, all at the same time, like a cub fresh out of it's den and wanting to explore a strange, scary new world. "Flight.. But the sun will be rising soon and I've not yet actually slept. I should be finding a safe place to den down for the night."

Opalescence remained in her spot, passively staring at the mirror who seemed to be just a little more than on edge. She made no motion to move, but she was no fool; she remained light on her feet with her wings at the ready, should the grouchy looking male decide he wanted to attempt to turn her into food again. Though her eyes never left the infected brute, her ears remained tuned to Malik's every word and movement, every little shuffle of leaf litter, and every little scratch of talons or scales upon the earth. For a dragon so stealthy, he certainly knows how to be noisy... For all her good intentions of keeping an eye on Deruge, the crazy little Fae was enough to draw her eye to him as he went on his first little rant. There were no words for his rant. Honestly, she should just fly off and leave them all here to whatever danger Malik was hinting towards. One seemed to want to tear into her flesh and stain her ivory scales crimson, another she feared would teach the impressionable young hatchlings to set themselves on fire, and the last? Pausing, she turned to look at Malik now, ignoring the little Fae for the time being. Well... they're not all so bad, I suppose... Dangerous and mad? Certainly. Every last one of them. But he doesn't seem so bad...
Just as she grew more open to sticking around, Deruge decided to inform her that sleep was for the weak, with the undertone of since she needed to sleep, therefore she was weak. Yet again it was Malik who came to the brutes verbal rescue, and she couldn't help but to smirk a little and muffle a bit of a snort of amusement as the shadow called him insane, and then not so smoothly covered it up. Once more, however, Deruge interrupted and ruined the moment. Slowly, she turned her head to look at the mirror, her eyes narrowing into a fiery little glare. "What did you just say to me?" Sure. Ok. It was a bit of a snappy tone, and probably not her brightest idea, but it wasn't like it was unjustified. "I am not some little familiar you can go and bark and order at and just expect to have it done. If you want help, you ask for it. You damn well don't go insulting the dragon you want to help you, and then go demanding it anyway." Hearing Malik's voice to her left she stopped her snap from continuing on further and moved to look at him, or well his eyes. She didn't know this forest. He did. For all she knew if she left them now they'd be dead by the midday sun. The sight of Crazy hiding behind a small branch was enough. A soft sigh left her lips and she hung her head for a moment, before looking back up to Malik. "I'll escort you into the Labyrinth, and find us a safe place to den down for a few hours sleep before the sun rises. And no, I don't care what you say, Deruge. Sleep is necessary for the mind to calm and the body to repair itself. If you're headed into the Labyrinth, you play by it's rules. If you don't.." She allowed her voice to fade as she turned around and began to walk off through the forest, making a bee-line for the Viridian border. "They're not called the Shrieking Wilds for nothing, after all.. It's not as nice and easy living in the Labyrinth as some would believe."
Her warning given, she walked in silence, years of experience allowing her to not rustle a single leaf, nor snap a single twig, gliding through the forest like the ghostly apparition she appeared to be. As she walked, her hips swayed in reverse time to her tail, a tail that should she have been a cat, would clearly state she was less than enthused right now. She should be happy, right? She'd finally found dragons who listened to her (somewhat), and paid attention to her (kind of). Yet she honestly felt more like she was baby sitting one of them, trying not to lead another off a cliff face or into a group of wildclaws. At least there was one, she reminded herself, that she didn't find too annoying. Reaching the boundary between Malik's land and her own she stepped over it and relished the feel of the soft green grass, the sound of trickling water and the site of all the flowers. Taking a few more steps into the gardens she looked around, quickly finding a large enough open area she wandered over to it before sitting down, facing the borders. "Come on. We'll bed here for the night. I need some rest and it will take too long to get to the Wilds. You, crazy little Fae, don't go starting any fires unless you want predators coming in after us. I'm fast enough to get away, and this is home grounds for me. The best you lot could manage is to pray you were fast enough to make it back to the shadow lands." It was a simple enough explanation, and she didn't seem inclined to do anything but that as she sank down to the ground and nestled into the grass, though her eyes remained on the males. For a moment she wondered if she should take the time to explain to them that they shouldn't go sniffing certain flowers, eating certain berries, or poking certain pods. Actually, she probably should have told them not to do or touch anything in the area. Sure, there were plenty of little animals running around, fish in the water, and fruit dangling down within easy reach, and sure, it looked all beautiful and friendly and safe, but it always left a bitter aftertaste if one didn't know what they were doing. There were flowers whose pollen made a dragon sleep for a week and thorns that oozed a poison that left them writhing in agony for days on end, while others who's pollen made certain instinctive drives more obvious. There were seed pods who'd explode out and get their spiky little burrs stuck under a dragon's scales, leaving them with a near incurable itch till the seed finally came loose, while others whose fruit made one's rump run worse than the Gladeveins. The list could go on and on, so perhaps she should have mentioned something... But then again, one of them was an ass, the other was a potential danger to the children, and the final she figured was smart enough to have already presumed he shouldn't touch anything. Deciding she didn't care, she tucked her face under her own wing before flipping her tail up and around herself, a soothing breeze ruffling through her feathers as a final goodnight call. Come morning, she'd decide if she'd actually help them find a tree, or if she'd just fly the hell off and leave them there to the Labyrinth's mercy.

Throughout the night, Opalescent slept lightly, waking again and again as Deruge moved about, recognising the unsettled sounds of the creatures of the forest as he disturbed and spooked them. The whole time, however, she remained still with her eyes only open to reveal small slits, easy enough to cover up and pretend she was still asleep as she watched him move about. 'Perhaps he's not so bad, either...' she mused to herself during the night, watching in silence as he walked over to the water's edge. It was when he actually drank and looked as scared and horribly confused as a newborn hatchling tasting it's first taste of the crystalline water's the Labyrinth had to offer that she found herself struggling to maintain her little charade. Honestly, she couldn't help herself. It was such a different side to the big, lugging brute to what she'd seen, not to mention it was as adorable as seeing a hatchling discover the banks for the first time. She was caught between wanting to squeal and wanting to giggle fit at him. In the end she settled for 'sleepily' shuffling to turn her head from the scene and forcing herself to rest a little longer.
~~~~~~~
Come morning Opalescence remained nestled down, her head on her paws, her breathing steady, though she was very much well aware of the other dragons shuffling about her, most specifically Crazy. She liked the little fellow, he had energy to match her own, and his chattering wasn't so bad once you learned to just listen to the melody and not the words, almost like a strange little song. However, as much as she enjoyed the little chattering lunatic, it was far more fun to just lay there, in silence, pretending to be asleep as she listened to poor Deruge struggle with the hyperactive pyro-fae. Malik's sullen voice took her attention straight away, however, his previous friendly, chatty visage seeming to have vanished as the night had faded into day. As much interest as she took, however, she refused to move, wanting to see how long she could last. At Deruge's remark about her being awake, however, she gave a bit of an amused trill and raised her head, smiling almost deviously in delight as she looked over the little group for the first time in the light. "Yes, I'm awake. I have been for a while now~" her voice was a purr of delight as she seemed to smirk at the plague dragon, shaking her head at him a little as she rose and arched out like a cat. As she stretched, she listened to Malik's little scolding, laughing softly beneath her breath before making a high pitched little mewl as she neared her final stretch, her wings outstretched and her body stretched to it's full length, fully revealing just how tiny her lithe little form truly was. Raising up she stood and watched as Deruge paced around, wondering what in the Gods' names the strange plague dragon was doing. Tilting her head this way and that she watched in silence, the little opalescent markings glimmering in the bright light of day, giving her a near glowing appearance as it seemed to sparkle and shimmer upon her ivory white scales.
As Deruge forced the shadowy dragon out from behind the tree and into the Fae's and her own vision she let out a soft gasp, her eyes widening as she caught sight for the first, and potentially only time of Malik's actual form. For that fleeting moment he was visible her eyes took in his form. Such strange, dark colours... Such beautiful scales. They looked as though someone had taken the night sky itself, dipped it in a venomous poison before draping a dragon in it and laying the most perfect and clear crystals over as scales. She watched in awe as the light danced over his scales, the strange shape of his horns and the soft tuft of fur upon his tail and running down his back. He looked somewhat reminiscent of her own form, and yet so very, very different. He seemed to almost have feathered wings, an illusion, she knew, but still! He had the tuft of fur upon his tail, much like her own, and a sleek body.
As quick as he had appeared (been forced out) from behind the tree, he disappeared, slipping up and into the tree. It was then and only then that her eyes fell to Deruge. Honestly, she wasn't quite so sure what to make of him any more. He'd been so hostile last night, and then when left to his own devices he was so... innocent, naive and curious, like a hatchling finding it's own feet for the first time and stumbling on. 'Perhaps it's his confusion that leads to his anger...' she thought to herself as she looked him over, before smiling and laughing a little. Giving a small nod to him she stepped forwards, daring to draw in a little closer to the usually disgruntled male. She stood only a few feet from him now, and was midway through dipping her head to him before she heard the rumbling growl of pleasure. Looking up, she saw he'd looked her way finally. Without warning she found her mouth dry and her eyes widen ever so slightly, a faint pink tinge falling over her pale flesh, showing through the few gaps between her facial scales. Instantly she stood upright, averting her eyes and clearing her throat as she took a few hurried steps backwards, and then suddenly disappeared up and into the tree along with Malik, neither dragon's form truly hiding too well amidst the greenery. "Well... at least you know some form of modesty and politeness, and you're not a completely hapless rufian." her voice was high, her trills quick and almost decisive in a way, as if she wished to get the conversation over and done with as she moved to hide up in the tree once more, though she struggled to find room in the small tree with Malik also lurking within. "Fine. I'll help you find this supposed tree. But in exchange... I want information. About the world, outside of here. Think of it as a trade, if you will. I'll help you survive, I'll teach you about the world within the labyrinth, and help you find this tree, and in exchange you teach me about the worlds you both come from, what it's like there, and what it's like to explore. And..." Her voice fell for a moment before she slinked out to one of the higher branches, using her wings to help herself perch upon them as she looked down at Deruge. "Teach me how to fight. I want to explore, I want to go beyond... but I can't go by myself, and certainly if I do not know how to fight. At least if I know how to fight, then I stand some sort of chance, right? And... you seem to know how to fight, and you actually listen to me... somewhat. Do we have a deal... Deruge?"
She continued to stare down at Deruge for a long moment, recognising the way she'd practically purred his name as she rolled it off of her tongue, tasting it for the first time. It even sounded like a powerful name. Turning, she looked to Malik as well, knowing it wasn't just Deruge's decision, but the shadow dragon's as well. Without a word she slipped back into the tree and slunk towards Malik, slipping through the foliage till her face emerged from the inner foliage, her face hovering just a foot from his own. "This goes to you, as well, Malik. If you agree, though, we can move while the day is still early. Depending on how fast your friends move, we can make it to the main forest before the high sun, once in the Wilds, there are plenty of shadows where you can hide, if you know where to look. I can show you. Until then... you can stick to the shrubs and the bushes, the dips in the land. I can fly above you, provide an extra cover of shadow, since you don't like to be seen... in... in which case. Gods, ok, I just invaded your personal space. I'm sorry. You're just.. I just... I..." Fumbling over her words she shifted back and dipped her head, looking away from him as she found herself tripping over her own feet, "Sorry. You're... just... different. I've never seen anything like you before... your colours, your scales, your species. It's... it's just... it's... intriguing, and interesting, and different... And... well you're shiny. Very shiny. I'm just going to shut up now." Slipping back up to the top of the tree, her back to him, she resumed peering down at Deruge and and Crazy, awaiting their response.
As Deruge growled his approval of her offer, and Malik drew closer a soft trill bubbled from her lips. Turning to look at Malik a faint smile appeared as she bobbed her head towards him, thankful that she hadn't gone and offended him or pushed the boundaries she'd gone and completely forgotten about. Laughing softly, she shook head towards the shadow dragon. "Oh, no. I didn't think you would teach me how to fight. You don't look like the type of dragon to foolishly rush into acts of violence. It was a request directed to Deruge, considering he attempted to turn me into food and how savagely he tore into the provided meal, I presumed such a request was right up his alley. Thankfully, he seems to be more than willing~" her voice little more than a soft, reassuring purr, her eyes forced themselves to tear away from Malik's scales and to turn and look at Deruge with calculating, inquisitive eyes. Unfortunately for the young dragoness, by the time she'd returned her gaze to the plague-beast, listening to every words he'd breathed, he was up and in the tree. Three dragons in one small tree. She began to have her doubts about Deruge's intelligence as she shifted around, instantly coming to put herself between Deruge and Malik, her wings flaring out to further hide the shadow and to push him back, cautious eyes upon his form. As he breathed she turned her head and beat her wings, forcing the breath to have no choice but to travel downwind and away from herself and Malik. Relaxing a little as Deruge explained his reasoning her inquisitive side took over once more and she couldn't help but to watch in silence as the life around them wilted and turned a sickly brown, wilting and rotting within seconds. It fascinated her, how quickly one simple Breath could cause so much death. She'd never seen such a thing before in her whole life.
Next thing she knew Malik was demanding they head off and Crazy was jibbering on about something or another, she wasn't too sure what, but she was quite certain she didn't care to know. Bowing her head in return to Deruge she gave a small rumbling purr of thanks. "We can hunt while Malik sleeps. We can move more at night, that way." she murred to her new acquaintance before spreading her wings and taking to the air. Circling high above the group for a moment she dove before banking, settling into gliding and lazily beating her wings once every so often above the banks of the river, providing Malik with the promised shade for the shadow to reside in. Not only did she provide the cover of protection, but from up higher, she could see if any danger were headed their way and see across a larger expanse of land as well as provide a bright, shining object to draw attention away from the misfitted band calling themselves a flight below. The pace was kept brisk, yet not rushed. It was slow enough for those upon the ground to easily keep up and to take in all that they saw around them, while fast enough to allow them to reach the boundary of the Shrieking Wilds before the midday sun was upon them.
Once close enough to the true forest Opalescence allowed herself to bank and drift, gliding down to gently land upon the ground at the border. Being so close she trusted that the shadow dragon would have rushed off and into the protective and dense shadows of the trees within seconds of drawing near enough, so she no longer had to worry about providing the agreed upon protective shadow, however she did not move to continue on straight away into the depths of the dark, foreboding forest. Glancing to Malik, she trilled softly, "Find a spot high up in the trees, bed yourself down in the shadows and rest. We'll continue on at sundown. Crazy," She turned now to look at the fiery little Fae, "Go... oh I don't know... Go see how many dragonflies you can turn into fireflies, yeah? I have something I want to show Deruge..." For a moment her eyes lingered on Deruge's tainted form before she turned her gaze towards the forest and slipped into the deep shadows of the wild abyss, her movements slow and purposeful, feline in their manner as once more her hips swayed in reverse time to her tail. Pausing just inside of the Wilds, she turned to look back towards Deruge, to see if he was indeed following. "Come on... I want to show you how life starts here in the Labyrinth. I think you'll enjoy it~" Her voice was a soft, low purr as she looked at him, a mischievous little gleam in her eyes before she slipped off and into the dense forest, gliding through and once more taking on her ghostly appearance, more so than before when compared to the lush life around them.
Moving through the forest without a sound she lead him ever deeper before seeming to completely disappear, the only hint of her being her scent as it drifted upon the wind, soft and fruity with just a touch of musk, like the forest after the rain. The mix of her own scent and the forest scent when paired with the wind and the rustle of the leaves gave the illusion of her being everywhere yet no where, all at once. Without warning she shifted out from behind a tree just a few feet from him, her eyes upon him once more, a little smile curving her lips. Silently, she turned herself away from him before hunkering her front half down, leaving her rump swaying in the air for a moment, before she stood back, a root of a bush in her mouth. Giving a firm beat of her wings she provided herself the extra strength necessary to uproot the poor bush, tossing it carelessly to the side before stepping away to reveal to Deruge the whole reason she'd invited him out and into the forest with her. Before them lay a dead tree, it's ancient trunk half rotten and covered in disease and all sorts of fungi and insects, all slowly working away at devouring what they could of the once mighty tree, other forms of plant life already sinking their roots deep into it's body and blooming, all reaching out and striving towards what little sunlight was left. As they stood there, birds and animals flitted in and out, snatching up the plants, the fungus and the insects, while others aimed for the smaller animals and birds. It was an endless cycle of death. Even in the mess the uprooting of the tree had left, bones and putrid flesh was visible, the plant clearly having thrived on the nutrients whatever poor dead animal's carcass had provided to the soil. Even at their feet the leaf litter was a mix of freshly fallen and rotting leaves, more insects and fungi and disease slowly eating away at it, breaking it down and returning it once more to the soil the whole labyrinth bloomed from. Turning back to look at Deruge she trilled softly at him, stepping closer to him once more. "I told you," she purred softly, "The Labyrinth isn't as gentle and loving as many would believe. If it weren't for death, there would be no life. It is an endless cycle, and one that forces us to evolve and adapt, as fast as we can so that we can survive. It's why I am so fast. As an abandoned egg that was just so lucky enough to wind up hatching, no one to learn from, no flight to protect me, I had to learn how to survive. Wildclaws are fast, and when in their territory you'd either be something they'd rather not feast upon, or quick enough and smart enough to avoid them." She stepped closer again, now only a foot from him, her eyes blazing and intense, "I had to learn to be fast. A hatchling couldn't take on a full pack of adult Wildclaws... but I'm not a hatchling, now, nor am I alone. I don't want to have to run, I want to be able to fight, to be strong. I don't have a flight. I don't have anyone to protect me, not like every other dragon in this forest. I have to be able to protect myself. I'm certain your reasons for being here aren't as innocent as what Malik made them out to be, but I don't care. Not so long as you keep to your part of the deal, and you teach me. Burn this place to the ground, flood it with disease. I don't care. Just teach me. Be my Master, and let me be your student, at least until you've done what you came here to do and leave." She was so close, now, and in the dim light at such close a range her slender face revealed what usually remained a hidden little reminder of her dangerous childhood. A scar marred her otherwise perfect scales, starting just below her left eye and coursing down over her cheek. It had faded and lightened, showing it's age, but it had been a wound that had almost cost her an eye, and a constant reminder as to why she wanted to be different, to why she understood that the Labyrinth wasn't a gentle, friendly place.
Without waiting for an answer she leapt over him and landed upon a large, ancient oak. As quick as the wind she scuttled up it, shifting up and onto a branch, her tail flicking and beckoning him to follow. Nestling down, her trained gaze fell to the forest below, the familiar chatter of Wildclaws reaching her ears. Instinctively she shifted around on the branch, her ears back and her tail twitching. The sound of them being so close made her uncomfortable and twitchy, even so she remained decently still, and as silent as ever. Her breath steady and slow she glanced back to Deruge before looking out to where she heard the pack. "This is their hunting grounds. This is where I first learned the importance of never letting your guard down, and fighting through pain." Her voice was soft and hushed, a slight tinge of hatred coursing through it as she almost spat the word 'their', as though it were made of poison, "You said we were going to hunt, and you were interested in wildclaws... well, now's the chance. Teach me how to hunt, how to fight like you." She turned her gaze back to him as the rustle of leaves drew closer, the shrieking of small animals struggling for their life and having it quickly and cruelly snuffed out echoing around them. In her eyes was not fear, not of him, but of respect, admiration of sorts. In those pools of green it was clear that she'd follow him, his lead, his words, at least until they held lies that would harm her. She was flighty, that was her nature, that was what had kept her alive, so she knew when to 'fly the coop' as it were should she start to fear he would turn on her, but for now, he was her best chance, and one of the best fighters she'd seen.
Even as the young dragoness listened to the clearly more experienced dragon, her eyes never left their targets. Nodding in silence she flattened herself down, crouching low and spreading her wings, preparing to launch herself when the time was right. Before she could react, however, Deruge was already upon the first Wildclaw, and she watched in silent marvel as it died before it even hit the ground. She was left breathless as she stared, wide eyed, as Deruge brought death upon the very clan that had nearly been her end before she'd even had a chance to begin her story. Of course, in her shock and awe she'd been slow and failed to swoop out and help him, instead she remained in the tree, frozen, as the pack descended upon her unlikely companion and teacher. She watched in horror as they tore into Deruge's flesh, she watched as he bled, as they slowly brought the death bringer down. It was his voice, though, that snapped her out of her little brain dead moment. Then, and only then, did her eyes fall to his own, and from there, to the nearest Wildclaw, one with it's back to her.
And then she was gone, nothing but a silent, white blur as she took her own turn to descend upon fierce raptor like dragons. The first was as easy as it had been to take down the doe she'd killed for Deruge the night they'd met. With it distracted, focussed too intently upon Deruge and his breathe of death and it's fallen comrade, it never saw her coming. Before it could react she'd swooped down, landed upon it's back and sinking her claws into it's flesh, shredding it's wings as her long, elegant neck twisted around and tore into the soft scaled flesh of the brute's neck, just under it's jaw. Within seconds she was back in the air, dancing like the ghost she was known to be, coated in the red life essence of her first, true dragon-kill. It was her speed that played as her greatest strength, and her silence. By the time the rest of the pack had caught on to the strangled gurgles of their pack-mate, it was beyond saving, crumpling to the ground and spluttering it's last few breaths with her already in the air, too fast to actually catch. Thankfully. Glancing to Deruge she looked over him. He'd been injured because of her, not entirely, but she had played a part, and that part sickened her... and angered her. A dangerous growl rumbled through her throat as green eyes narrowed, her next target chosen. Off to the other side of the pack was a slower member. It, too, crumpled without too much of a fight. With three of their pack-mates down now the Wildclaws began to shuffle and hiss and growl, slinking back and doing their best to group together. One was near impossible to get near without facing a breath of death, and the other was too fast to touch, too fast to avoid.
With her first two kills down, an idea struck the young dragoness. Circling around the group she growled, not allowing them to spread too far out. Once she had the circle set out, with Deruge at one side, the Wildclaws at the other, she drew the circle in tighter, occasionally dipping and diving down to snap or slash at the now trapped dragons. She tore at wings if they attempted to fly up, sliced at the back of legs if they attempted to run, and if they were stupid enough to crane their heads to high as she swooped in, she snapped and tore at their throats. The whole while she tightened the circle, weakening them and giving them little to no choice but to draw nearer and nearer to the Plague dragon, or to face the sharpened talons and fangs of the ghostly, death bringing visage that seemed to manage to be nearly everywhere, all at once. Shrieks. Howls. Snarls. All of rage, hate and agony chorused through the forest as the pair brought death down upon the group.
As the numbers of the wildclaws dwindled, the Alpha still remained, standing strong and being one of the few to manage to lash back out at both the young Dragoness and plague-filled dragon, leaving Opalescence one nasty looking cut over her chest, staining her alabaster scales with her own crimson life essence. Even with the pain of the deep wound, and through the sting of the others that littered her under belly and legs, she continued on. She'd started a fight, by the Gods she would finish it, one way or another. In the end, however, her own hatred towards the Alpha won out and she propelled herself at it, knocking the beast to the ground as she sank her teeth deep into it's throat. The struggle lasted what seemed like an eternity to the petite dragoness, the thrashes of the powerful body beneath her near impossible to pin, but with years of experience at balancing she was able to ride it out, taking only a few more cuts in return for the final blow. Her grip upon it's throat grew tighter and tighter, it's blood pouring into her mouth and staining the ground beneath them both as she watched the light slowly fade from it's eyes, satisfaction sinking into her to know she had caused this. She had finally brought what the brute had brought to so many hatchlings and fledgelings, what it had almost brought to her, the scar upon her face a permanent reminder. "May the Gods shit upon your grave..." she hissed in a low, poisonous tone, glaring down at the still warm body as she finally released it's throat, near instantly taking to the air to once more take into account who remained, and to assess if she still had the strength to fight, if she still needed to. Judging by how heavy her wings felt, she doubted it very much, but if she died, she could die satisfied, now.
Time seemed to be running in slow motion for the young dragoness as her mind reeled with the bloodied scene below her. For once, the Shrieking Wilds fell silent and still as the scent of death and decay filled the air around them. "Wh-what... I... What did I..." Her voice was the faintest of whispers, so soft even she herself struggled to hear as her instincts ebbed and she, for the first time, truly looked at what she had done, what she had accomplished. Crimson stained her previously pristine scales, blood soaking in deep and tainting her look of purity. Blood that, for the most part, was not her own. Bringing herself to a standstill she hovered midair and stared down at the forest below her, her chest rising and falling in a hard, steady beat as her heart rate finally settled and slowed. That was when she spotted Deruge, covered in deep wounds and his own blood, struggling to walk.
"Deruge!"
Her voice cried out through the forest as she watched him crumple to the ground and pass out, with a single beat of her wings forcing her way down to his side. Staring at him in horror she paced around him frantically, her heart once more racing as she tried to think of what to do.
"D-Dammit... No... Ugh you bastard... I thought you knew how to fight... you knew how to avoid strikes..!"
A soft hiss escaped her lips as she glared at his unconscious form. Glancing about the forest she spotted some plants that would help stop the bleeding and heal them. Stepping away from Deruge she paused, glancing back to his figure nervously before quickly dashing off, snapping up the plants and rushing back. Nestling down beside him she stared at his back, unsure of how safe it was for her to actually go and help him, but upon looking at the wounds again she took a deep breath and drew in closer. One by one she applied the slather of pulp and leaves to his wounds, staunching the bleeding and helping to disinfect and heal the damage done. Honestly she wasn't too sure how this would work on a Plague dragon, she'd only ever done such thing to wounded nature dragons before. For all she knew this could make him much, much worse, but it was something she had to risk. Once satisfied with her work she drew back to give it one final look over, before tending to her own wounds, though thankfully none were as deep as his own, her speed not allowing the Wildclaws to sink their tallons nor fangs in too deep. With both of their wounds tended to she finally relaxed a little and nestled down, curling her body as best she could around Deruge, without actually having to touch him, and kept a watchful eye and ear out for anything dangerous that came their way. He had helped her learn to fight. He had helped her take her revenge. She owed him a debt, and to simply leave him there, bloodied and weakened and at the mercy of the Labyrinth was no way to repay such a debt.
As time drew by she continued to watch over Deruge, a worried expression falling over her face as she fretted wether or not he'd be able to heal on his own. Did Plague dragons heal? Deciding it would be best not to risk it she allowed her eyes to flutter shut and reached deep within herself, before singing a soft, ancient tune. As she did, magic tingled through the air in soft, unseen tendrils, inching towards and over Deruge, working at helping to heal him as she waited. She'd need to eat, after this, and to sleep. Lots of sleep. But she'd made a deal, a promise, with this dragon, and she had no intentions on backing out by letting him die.
I-I-I I'm your little butterfly, green black and blue, make the colors in the sky.. He bobbed along on his air current, singing happily to himself as he made his way along. Everyone back home had stared at him like he was crazy when he'd told them he was going on a journey, especially when he hadn't been able to tell them where he was going. 'Wherever the wind took him' sounded very poetic and all but it certainly wasn't practical. Ataxis had to admit, he'd almost starved twice already when he'd touched down in what had appeared to be a bug free zone. Those had been lean legs of the journey but they were behind him now. True, he didn't actually care for the carrion flies he'd been feeding on as he winged his way over the plagued lands and true, he really hadn't cared for plagued dragons trying to make a meal of him. But that was behind him now. Ahead was the lush thickness of the forest canopy and if ever a dragon had been designed to hide amid lush foliage, Ataxis was fairly certain he was it.
His song fading to a light hum he glided over the tips of the trees, nursing the last of a fading tail wind. When it abruptly dried up on him, he was almost dropped straight down through the branches, brightly colored wings whirring as he slowed his descent and began to navigate his way through the suddenly verdant airspace. Branches seemed to reach out from every direction to claw at his delicate wing membranes and it too a great deal of concentration to navigate the maze without injury. At last he managed to find a branch to perch upon, folding his wings with a huff and taking a moment to get his bearings. All around him the forest was deathly quite. Having never been in a forest before, Ataxis didn't realize anything was wrong with this. He sniffed at the air instead, expressive crest flicking up with hope, then falling again. The breezes seemed to be fickle, bringing him the scents of honey and flowers and...carrion? Yes, most definitely carrion. As much as he despised carrion flies...that would be the easiest meal to find this evening.
Gathering himself again, he began leaping branch to branch, waiting until he could see a more open space before spreading his brilliant wings again, humming lightly to himself as he began to navigate the twists and turns far more expertly than before, bending the zephyrs of this new habitat to his will, aiding in his endeavor. His surprise at the sight that greeted him when the canopy gave way, was almost comical. His jaw dropped, his frills falling flat around him in obvious disappointment. The kill was fresh, the dragons that had made it sitting around the slain bodies still. No no no! This simply wouldn't do! His green eyes darted between their figures. There was a pustule covered mirror, a gleaming spiral, a whispy shadow he couldn't quite make out and...was that another fae? It certainly was...a fae on fire.
That was obviously the culprit, the bug eater, the reason there were no tasty winged morsels just hovering around and waiting to be snapped up in Ataxis' jaws. Alright, so maybe he'd been travelling for too long. Maybe he'd been at too high an altitude and it had done something to his brain. Whatever the reason the emerald fae just...snapped. With an angry flair of his crest he dove out of the tree, fanning his wings lightly as he aimed for the other fae. Ooh he was going to give him such a tongue lashing! He would DEMAND that the other show him where the bugs had gone. This was a forest. A forest should have bugs. End of story. The other would tell him where the bugs were or...well Ataxis would no doubt thing of that later. Bugs first.
As Deruge slept Opalescence watched over him, singing softly to help control her healing spell, before switching into a gentle lullaby as he tossed and turned, in what was presumably a nightmare. The moment he startled awake, however, her head whipped up, turning to look at him with worry-filled eyes. "Wh-what?" she stuttered as he hissed and growled at her, raising up onto her feet and flinching backwards, taking just a few slow paces away as she kept herself low to the ground submissively, trying to show him she meant no harm, "D-Deruge! Stop! You'll tear your wounds back open!" For a moment she seemed caught between wanting to chase after him and stop him, to start tending to his wounds once more, but he was pissed off, skittish and in pain. Lords only knew what he'd do to her if she got too close. Malik's voice was a God send as he piped up from the shadows of the forests dense foliage. Looking over to him she allowed herself to rise a little, giving a sigh of relief and a nod of thanks to him. "Haha, you learn fast or you die young, that's all." she cooed to the shadow dragon, giving a small shrug before turning to look once more in concern to Deruge, "Besides. I gave my word to help him find this 'tree', and in return he agreed to help train me how to hunt and fight. He's held up on his side of the deal, and I can't very well hold up my own end if I let him die, much less let him die because he held up his end of the deal..." A soft trill rolled from her tongue as she slowly moved towards Deruge, plucking up some more of the leaves and ground up plant life. "Deruge.... please just settle. You've already gone and broken some of the patches, if you keep fussing like that you're going to tear open your wound and bleed out. You lost a lot of blood, this is a very serious matter. You need to rest. We can keep moving through the night, as I said we would, but slowly. I can tend to your wounds and help heal you as we go." Piling up her little gathering of medical equipment she turned and moved to snag one of the fallen Wildclaws, the alpha, and dragged it over to Deruge before nudging it even closer with her muzzle, though she continued to remain a safe distance from him. "Eat. I'll go get some food for myself, and tend to your wounds when I get back. Malik... please try to convince him not to do anything too stupid unless he wants to go killing himself before his journey is done."
Turning back she moved gracefully to one of the nearest trees, a small limp to her usual ghost like movements, a wince on her usually placid face. That was until she picked up the sound of something moving through the trees above, Instantly she backed up and hunkered down before pouncing into the nearest tree, scaling it with ease as she fell silent. Her eyes fell upon the form of a Fae. Glancing back down to the group she'd found herself entangled with she began to have doubts about going off to get her own food. Their main fighter was down, Crazy was... well crazy and pretty much useless, and Malik didn't seem to be the kind to actually fight. Sure, she wasn't the best fighter, but she was in better condition than Deruge right now. "You there. Fae. What do you want?" By the time she spoke she was but a few branches behind him, crouched down and ready to spring at the strange Fae, though she was thankful that his eyes indicated he wasn't from the forests. A forest fae in the forest could potentially be a handful, with their near never ending supply of magic, however a fae from outside of the forest had only a small magical reserve. Perhaps he wouldn't be too dangerous. "If you're thinking of attacking them, don't be foolish. One will breathe death upon you, another will burn you if you let him or give him reason to. They took a whole pack of Wildclaws down. Honestly I'm even beginning to wonder if I'm safe with them." Ok. It wasn't quite a lie. Deruge and someone from the group had indeed taken down the pack, and she was beginning to question how safe she was with them, seeing as how Deruge would happily kill her even though she was helpful to him, but she was the one who'd taken down the majority of the opposing dragons. Slipping through the trees she appeared in front of him and above him, peering down at him with large green eyes, noting just how skinny he was. "You're not from around here, are you? You look positively starved... Would you like some food? I was about to head off and get some of my own." Hey. The 'give them food' tactic worked on Deruge and Malik. It was a sound theory that if she offered food to strange dragons, they wouldn't attack.
