According to a new answer on the Tumblr, skins and accents cannot change the eyes of a dragon. I never knew this before, and now I'm wondering if anyone else did. Was this a well-known thing in Beta? It's kind of disappointing, not being able to change the eye color (plus now I lose an aspect of my blue pearl skin), but I can also understand it. Flights and elements are such a big thing in FR, giving people the option to change the eyes to other colors that could, in all likeliness, be the color of another Flight, would take away the one thing that physically shows a dragon's element.

I think I heard it before. But I at least expected it, since the eyecolour is one of the few things that identifies a dragon's element. So in that way, I think it is a good rule

Yeah, it is, but I'd already had a few skins with particular eye colors, as did other artists on this forum, so it's a bit of a bummer there. xD Ah well. It's only the eyes, so it doesn't change much.

Yes, it was known in Beta and like you guessed it's because of the importance of element identities. I'm very sorry, I've tried to keep an eye out for things like that so people don't waste time on plans they can't carry out. But I wasn't paying attention to the Skins. They've also recently nixed skins with photo-textures, so anyone using those should be aware of that.

That's alright, the eyes are just a small part. And yeah, but I expected photo textures would be out from the beginning. I'm glad they updated the rules along with it to make things clearer. It's like they stated, it's a nightmare as far as copyright. And frankly, most of those textures would just look on a skin anyhow, unless some serious blending is done.

I guess it's a bit disappointing, but I actually kind of like the eye rule. After all, if you wind up selling multiple copies of your skin to different people, they'll still wind up with a unique-looking dragon if they belong to different flights.
Given the kind of copyright policing they're going to have to do, I'm kind of wondering how long this "within 3 days" skin approval promise is going to last. There are going to be a LOT of skins on the market right at the start, and I can imagine looking through them all will take quite some time.

The initial rush won't be as bad that, I think. Remember skins cost a heavy amount of gems, so the ones who are submitting right off the bat are going to be the ones with that money to spare. And then they may only be able to afford one or two submissions. After that, the rest of the players are going to have to wait until they grind it out by play, or whenever they find their first buyers.
I won't have the money to get gems, so I'm in the grinding/in need of buyers pool.
