Hey there!
I'm Deepclaw. In anticipation of Flight Rising's release, I've been stalking anything FR related. I checked out the reddit and and found a link to here! Yall seem like a friendly bunch and I've really enjoyed listening to everyone's Flight soundtracks in the General Discussion thread. I'm leaning heavily towards the Water element, though I'm in denial. I keep waiting for another element to charm me before I pick the same one I always pick...Annnnny minute now....
I'm also taking a look at what others have or will have for sale and I'll certainly enjoy reading about others' plans for their clans. I never thought about it until recently and certainly need some inspiration. I'll definitely be doing some breeding project or another with my Imperials, but otherwise, I'm kind of winging it!

Hey, nice to meet ya. If you're not sure about sticking with water, does it also fit your personality well, or are there any others that you've considered? I'm sure me and the guys around here could explain our own or other elements, just so you can be sure to pick one you'll enjoy.

I had exactly the same thought process about Wind. "Oooh, Wind looks perfect! ...but I always choose air element, shouldn't I do something else for once...? But it's so perrrfeeeect..." As you can see, I finally gave in.  A lot of people have really specific breeding goals around here, which I'm also finding really interesting to read about. (My breeding goals are more along the lines of "find cool new combinations and sell them!" for the most part. xD) |

Hi Deepclaw! Welcome to the forum  I agree Water's got about the prettiest all-around artwork, but I'm quite firmly in the Arcane camp via the personality similarities thing. It really is up to you and there are a lot of elements to chose from. I look forward to seeing your clan plans! I'd love to trade Imperial babies once we all get into them~ |

Welcome Deepclaw! You're the first I've heard of that might choose the Water element as well as myself Most people seem to lean heavily on the personality and lore aspect of the elements when choosing so you might want to check out all the descriptions on the main site or the Tumblr ^^ |

Hi all! Thanks for the welcome. Oh, I know, exactly, Inventrix! I used to associate with Air a lot when I was younger, but then began an actual transition where I couldn't decide between the two, and now it's always Water. Paradoxical, I took a quiz I found a link to on the subreddit for FR and apparently I'm very much Arcane in personality, but I feel a stronger connection with Water, even irl. Well. Not that I enjoy swimming or anything. I fear Water too, and the things in it! Given a choice, I'd take flying abilities over anything underwater. But still, the element fascinates me and always always draws me in. So I guess I'm doomed to choosing the same ol' element again! At least in FR it doesn't seem like Water is in the minority,weaker, or outmatched like in many other, uh...what would you call that? Media? Fandoms? Genres? Games? Hey, I'm up for trades and sales, eventually. I don't have any plans yet for sure right now. I'd like to see the system in action first before I solidify plans on that front. I saw someone here say they were going to be selling hatchlings for 300 gems or so. I'd love to see what the market's like before doing business. I know I'm definitely going to need Imp hatchlings, though, eventually. Gotta keep the lines clean! It's cool that inbreeding is prevented, mostly, in this game. Too many of these types of games allow it, and that makes breeding projects so difficult! Hi Swiftla! Yeah, I've read some of those, saw the region, read a little about the God, etc. Even though Wind pulls at me a bit, and the god looks awesome, and Arcane is apparently closer to my personality, I can't help but pick Water. I'm sure I'll struggle with the choice some more before Wednesday again, but I'm pretty sure I'm stuck with my aquarium of a clan! Goooooo Blue Team!!!!! |

Well it's nice to find another on the team  Part of the reason I picked is because it seems to be not as popular, and since I don't have any headstart items (Imp scrolls, familiars or anything) I figured it'd be hard for me to trade anything except for hatchlings. I won't be buying gems either so I'm hoping I don't get left behind in the dust by everyone else's amazing designs! |

Oh my gosh, I know the feeling. :/ This will be the first petsite/thing kinda game where I might actually stand a chance at participating in the market. @_@ And the most I'll spend on gems is probably 10 bucks because it's virtual currency and I got bills!
I'd be happy to trade some time, though, fellow Waterclan!

Exactly! I hope I can get in early and establish myself as a regular, perhaps get to know some people. That way I have a chance at trading for some nice stuff early on and not be left out of all the premium-ness. Luckily most things are purchaseable with treasure so we stand a chance!
I'd be delighted to trade with you as well ^^

I don't think you'll have a problem with people 'buying' their way ahead in the game. The makers have been pretty adamant that they do not want 'pay to win' schemes to be a part of the game. People with the resources to toss gems into their game early will have a brief advantage, but I don't think it'll last- hatchlings will be common enough to go for just treasure by the second round of hatchings.

Yeah! I dunno how good I'll be at the games they've got, but Treasure farming might not be TOO hard!...Right? >_> Haha, we'll see! I wonder if we can trade treasure for gems, though, through the site, or if such trades will only be available through individual trades with other players. Probably the latter, I think...

Yeah, I'm not too concerned about being too far behind, but it's always a worry when new games open. I'm hoping the Fairground games aren't too tricky! I never found how many there were so hopefully everyone can find one they're good at.
I believe it was mentioned that a gem to treasure trading system wouldn't be implemented due to the being able to buy treasure with real money. ^^ (relating to my last concern haha)

Hi deepclaw, welcome to the fun. It is hard to pick an element, I went back and forth between Ice, Water and Arcane myself and finally settled on Ice. I typically will pick water elements for thing and I love the water eye color and artwork but Ice was just drawing me more this time.

It's funny tho, Im also very intrigued by water and the ocean, yet I can't swim that well and I fear it as well, just like you! Flying over swimming? Anytime of the day! Haha, I sometimes dream I can fly,, (I also sometimes dream I can breath underwater..) Yeah so,, anyhows! Good to have you here! If you have any questions you can always post it, and you'll probably have an answer in a few hours We are always happy to help newcomers! And if you ever decide to go buy some hatchlings, come by and see me! Im expecting to sell most of my hatchlings, tho my first and second clutch (and if Im unlucky with little clutches, probably also my third) are taken already. I just can't seem to connect with the other elements. @_@ And it's cool to see I'm not the only one who both respects and fears the ocean's greatness! Thanks for the offer, Gaea! Might take you up on it, though I might find a trade before you get your third clutch! I wonder how hard finding abandoned eggs is gonna be? I hope not too hard! lol |
